Resumption of the iPads project

Having appreciated how technology is a powerful tool that supports and transforms education, we have started re-introducing the use of iPads in the school. The iPads are connected to the school network and are centrally managed by the college through JAMF MDM(Mobile Device Management), so that they are not misused. The College reserves the right on what can be accessed and installed on the iPads. The iPads are only being bought through the College and will have several educational applications that help in teaching and learning.

CAMBRIDGE EXAMINATION RESULTS FOR 2020

In the midst of the gloomy circumstances that we currently face in the country, we happily received our very pleasing results for the 2020 Cambridge Examinations. The results of all the levels; Checkpoint (Form 2), IGCSE / O level and ‘A’ level were impressive.

(a) Form Two Checkpoint

97% of our students passed the Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations. The following students had excellent average scores out of the maximum grade of six.

ONLINE DISTANCE LEARNING

There is no doubt that education is one of the most important and precious gifts that one can give to a child. This is why under the current coronavirus pandemic there has been an eLearning wave in education, that our staff had to quickly adapt to, in order not to disadvantage our children. One of the experiences is that teaching children physically in a classroom, cannot be compared with the effort that teachers had to put in providing online lessons. The switch from the traditional classroom to the computer-based learning in a virtual classroom has not been easy.

Re-opening of schools

Schools are expected to reopen for the exam writing classes (Forms 4 and 6) on Tuesday, 28 July 2020. There will be a staggered return of the other Forms and you will be advised accordingly. This implies that Online Distance Teaching and Learning will continue for the rest of the Forms. The pandemic has had a negative effect on our school finances and we, therefore, expect all fees payments to be complete before 28 July 2020. Reports from all over the world show that some parents have reservations about sending children back to school.
